painted masks
The air hugged me like an inconsiderate mess. Painted masks hung in front of me. Lies ties to my fingers. There was nothing to be ashamed of. Claws that held immortality broken to the touch. I held onto the sadness and the grief of the world. There was only the lies that kept me alive. The promises decayed upon the first lies. I held my breath. Forever they would never know what ate away at my soul. Devoured by the cake of immortality. Glass pierced my heart with my endless taunts. Destroyed by the afterthought of reality.
