Nature's Lament
Water trickles down the hill.
Feathers flying free from
Birds one with nature's will,
Searching for creatures below.
Sunrise peeks above mountaintops,
A gentle kiss extends to all.
Those who dwell found peace,
In a world unlike our own.

Yet, darkness reigns not too far,
It's heavy hands above rain down.
Chased away for a "higher purpose",
Forced to hide in fear of death,
Unable to beg nightmares for safety.

Scales tipped against their favor,
A balance so sacred, come undone.
Life that thinks itself better,
Will not see the horrors before them.

Time alone will make the stand,
And grant justice for our land.
Life that thinks itself so right,
Will one day beg for nature's light.
