A Wish
Wind caressing my shoulder,
Often makes me wonder;
Could it be stronger,
And carry me far longer,
Away from all the pressure,
To enjoy life like a treasure.
I wish, like a butterfly, I could fly,
Under the pretty blue sky.
Though by breaking the rules, I would defy
Nature’s delicate balance on which we rely.
I wish to be a butterfly, flying high,
Shedding the weight and soaring by.
I wish to sip on life’s nectar;
Taste its sweetness, escaping despair;
Spread out my wings to feel the air,
Lovingly embrace me, ever so pure;
And smell the freshness of nature,
Hidden away from humans to nurture.
