She thought she could have it forever ,
But that wasn't the actual truth.
Sometimes one just has to sever ,
Well that you know is life's ugly sooth.

No matter how hard she tried,
Making her believe that everything would go back to the way they were.
All the unpleasantness she had denied,
A will to make things better was a promise that she made to her.

She had the patience to wait for it ,
As it meant too much to her.
She waited for days even months for it,
As time passed by , she realized it had been a year .

She slowly perceived that it was the time to let go,
It was the time to part.
It was a fact her mind did know ,
But that was a matter of her heart.

She knew she had to let go ,
Or she'd drown in the ocean of darkness .
She knew she had to start over ,
To step into the world of brightness.

She knew it was the time for her,
To close that chapter of her life.
Start something new and fresh,
Leaving the past behind.
