I walked through the Valley of the Shadow of death
and Death cowered behind a hill,
terrified of the goodness strolling past.

I feared no evil.
Swinging the sword of the Spirit,
I cut through its rusted weapon,
prospering against me was impossible.
for The Lord is with me.

"Peace, be still," He commanded
Then he took my hand and
led me beside Still Waters,
So like an eagle, I dipped into His waters
shed old wings and wounds,
My soul is restored.


Certainly he delivered me,
He cut of the traps of the fowlers,
Clogged the voicebox of the chattering pestilence.
He is my Captain Universe.


My light and salvation
Dwells in me
Blank is my list of fears.
The strength of my life
stands in me,
I run even on broken legs.

I'm seated on a High table,
My enemies gape as I fill my belly
for only with my eyes
do I witness their reward
Goodness and Mercy
are the names of my bodyguard,
None can come close.

I dwell in the secret place of the Most High
a location known only by the righteous.
and abide under His Shadow
for He is my pillar of clouds
My Shelter from the scorching sun.
