A sunflower meant to Blossom
In the dung I was thrown
In the dirt they left me
Isolated in the dark black whole
Longing for the light or some rays of hope
Yet they ridiculed saying save your tears for another day
Blackness became the unfamiliar friend
For I was ones told to befriend the enemy
So that at dawn I might have victory
Yet I was fighting against the wind
Forced to depend on nothing my intuition
I started getting a lil warmer
A lil safer enough to grow
Blossoming was my endless goal
Longing for the light I once adored
To beheld acceptance in my bossom
To feel the edge of it all on my fingertips
Just when I was about to blossom
They started to pick my petals apart
Told me I was never meant to be a flower
That nothing beautiful comes from the dirt
I fell down and I fell hard
But as the sun rays hit me bit by bit
Determined to be the flower I always wanted
The thing they threw in the dirt
Was a sunflower seed meant to blossom
