long live the monarchy
When we talk of love
We talk of us
Not as a partner in an equal dance
But as two bodies with their own demands
We say "I love you"
"I need you"
There's no I in You
That why we only talk about ourselves

Sometimes you witness the end of a story
While it still puts on a show
how come we were happy before we
saw our stage in it's stale glow
You rage and hope for another outcome
Yet it's our tragedy on which we depend

As we find our inevitable end
We'll go out like the monarchy
One last ball, one big parade
First ornate, then opulent
Palatial, then shot dead
