The Forest And The Child
Beneath the forest lies a shady place - abundant of darkness, orphan of light. It is an unexplored kingdom of a marvelous sight - a good place for children's delight.
It is a natural setting of wildlife -
where trees stand as posts and leaves hang as roofs. It has open windows for letting the rain -
its breeze softly and gently to come in.
A child's adventurous mind then saw this unique place to play and sing. With a great love for nature - the home of beauty and sound - the thick forest he roamed.
He walked on and on until he was gone. And then, he found a shower falling to the ground. The cascading water struck the rough rocks beyond - washing its winding way - far away down.
Days passed by - like bits of time.
He forgot his parents, brothers and friends. His playmates seemed like angels - kind and polite. And he ate fruits from trees with such great delight.
He was like a prince in that wondrous place. He was garbed in silk studded with rare gems. His was a palace watched by loyal sentinels. And he rode his horse with such excellence.
By fortune, he awakened.
His mother said that he was only dreaming. Happy was he for he was back again - in that sweet, sweet place where he can dream again.
