There's Something about Her
Even though things are not as I dreamed and hoped to be;
I do know now, to let things be.
There's something about her;
Even though what I thought;
Never had a chance to start or be over;
What I found in her, was a part of myself;
I had closed off years ago, and put on a shelf.
The way she smiled and looked at me;
Taking my order, with compassion and glee;
Will never be forgotten;
Nor the way my heart was once smitten.
There's something about her;
That tells me more details about who my heart is searching for;
Whether I know her;
Or she comes out from behind a already open door.
Things went well, when we last spoke;
Though my heart is still in pain, there is less smoke.
I am grateful I have found hope again;
For what was end will soon once more begin.
After so many years of work on my inner being;
I now know some where, some time, someone will find me, and it's my real heart they will be seeing.
There's something about her;
That still causing my heart some necessary grieving.
To my knees I fall;
Trust in God, He always hears my call.
Inspiring me to write poems of love;
With my heart set on things high above;
I will always know for as long as I held a spot for you, it was from a heart of true love.
