334. By Someone Else's Measure
(Note: Based on feelings of jealousy that I was having towards friends and family.)
My jealousy rains down
Spreading like disease
All Across the town
I wait for it to cease
The Stick that measures me
Grows higher and higher
Higher than a redwood tree
Feel myself tripping over many a wire
Like a bird
All to content in its cage
Though instead with so few a word
It fuels a bubbling burning acidic rage
The dragon breathes the fire
Of my worst fear
And my greatest desire
Worth less than a shed tear
I see...
My jealousy rains down
Spreading like disease
All Across the town
I wait for it to cease
The Stick that measures me
Grows higher and higher
Higher than a redwood tree
Feel myself tripping over many a wire
Like a bird
All to content in its cage
Though instead with so few a word
It fuels a bubbling burning acidic rage
The dragon breathes the fire
Of my worst fear
And my greatest desire
Worth less than a shed tear
I see...
