Crying Out
#WritcoPoemPrompt8
Every soul that passes the gate,
Has passed a test of fate,
Trudging along on tired feet,
Almost there, refusing to be beat
Pounding my fists to relieve the stress.
I'm struggling against the weight of my sins.
Trying to believe my soul still exists.
Crying out to a Savior to guide me through.
Wishing my Savior would talk me through.
Praying that my mistakes won't destroy my fate.
Hoping my demons lost my scent.
Dragging myself forward,
walking on swollen feet.
Doing my best with what I have left.
I won't be beaten by life.
I'll try harder. I'll work harder.
I'll trust in my Savior to help carry my weight.
