Embrace of fear
In the end, I'm filled with fear,
Fear of what lies ahead, unclear.
Fear of what may come to be,
Fear of what may never be.
I'm scared of how much I depend on you,
In a way that feels wrong, yet true.
I don't want to know the time we have left,
But I yearn to understand, to what extent.
Yet when fear takes its hold on me,
I run, far away, desperately.
Escaping is my usual way,
To find solace, to keep fear at bay.
But this time, running brings no peace,
Within your arms, my fears release.
In the end, I find myself running,
Running into your embrace, returning.
