Communication- a barrier that neither of us can quite figure out how to overcome.

Should we simply walk away?

It's not as easy as it sounds
to drop everything you've
held up with your partner
ever since the beginning
& to watch it s h a t t e r
on the ground before you.

It's not as easy as it sounds
for all the work you've put
into somebody you cherish
to turn away from them
and forget the extent you'd love them to.

So we continue to carry around these

broken
s h a r d s,

slice our arms, hands, and fingers

with the remains of
what we once had.
F r a g m e n t s
continue to drop as we
continue to pace around barefoot
in hopes that the both of us can
finally learn to understand.

How will we repair what we've
d a m a g e d ?
How will we heal from our
w o u n d s ?

The tricky thing about working with

it won't ever be the same once
