Beyond the horizon
In the still of night, ‘neath stars aglow,
I pondered the tides that come and go.
Whispers of love in the winds that sigh,
Of hearts that wander, of dreams awry.
For oft I crossed vast oceans wide,
Chasing the shadows where my hopes reside.
Yet in the silence, my heart did sense
The heavy cost of such expanse.
What are grand oceans, so deep and vast,
When met with souls who leave you last?
Who turn away when tempests rise,
And cloak their truth in well-spun lies.
I’ve braved the storms, the restless seas,
For those who'd hardly bend their knees.
Yet here I stand, upon this shore,
A heart once bold, now...
