It's inevitable for us who have free will

I was walking home one day
a man stepped off a random porch
asked for my phone
my phone had no service
He walked with me and told me his life
how violence controled his youth
now he's found god
He wanted to accompany me
to the gas station for a beer
I obliged
when your broke and someone lends a
helping hand
That's like heaven
I got two packs of cigarettes
gave him one
said goodbye
never got his name

The next day he died of a heart attack on the same porch we met.
