A child's argument
The wind blows harsh
The rain so cold
The sun it burns
This bridge too old
And yet I stand
The day so dark
The moon too bright
There are fires around
Silence falls tonight
And yet I stand
And what did you cook?
What odour so putrid?
Where is my home?
So alone and stupid
And yet I stand
The ground shakes beneath me
Great chasams of end
Nowhere to hide
No bridge to mend
And yet I stand
Heckles and mockery
Emit from the trees
The beast is ahead
It was my turn to tease
And yet I stand
Is there a Heavan
Or Hell down below
I'm starting to tire
Must I reap what I sow?
And yet I stand
The great confrontation
echoes in the night
Great fountains so wild
Run rivers of plight
Was I victorious..?
And yet
I stand
