A love that never was
The gentle breeze strokes my skin,
a gentle caress better than my kin.
The skin tingles from the touch,
a reminder of all that is nothing much.

A hopeless romantic at heart,
all the memories so peart;
held your hand under the stars
as we dreamt of a dream to Mars.

The flowers bright and yellow,
the rainbow vividly visible,
all that are now shallow,
a love that once felt invincible.

Even more painful it is now,
for none of this occured-
why?
We were both cowards.

Sending awkward stared from across,
both now at a loss-
from a love that could have
brought the entire world to its knees.

A feeling of bliss,
at all the memories that could be-
the heart-break that never was,
for it was all a fantasy
that lived within my walls,
never to be heard by none but me.
