Stars In The Calendar: A New Year’s Heist

At midnight on New Year's Eve, as the streets of Singapore erupted with laughters and fireworks, four friends, Lily, Raj, Mei and Kiran stood in the middle of the crowd on a bridge overlooking the river.
"Alright, team," Raj pumped his fist dramatically, "It’s the New Year! Time to turn our dreams into reality!"
"Raj, that trick works well for you," Mei quipped, rolling her eyes.
"Last year you wanted to swim with dolphins but ended up going to Auntie May’s stall at East Coast Park."
Kiran grinned and nudged Mei, "Hey, I think Raj’s about to get doused again! This is the closest he’s come so far."
"Focus, guys!" Lily interrupted with mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
"This year, I’m determined to start my own cake business. This will be my home base, like Aunt May’s stall!"
"You mean a home-roasted thing?" Raj laughed, "Last time you tried baking, we ended up with hardtack biscuits for coasters!"
"I'll show you!" Lily retorted, "And what about you, Raj? Any great resolutions this year?"
"Easy-peasy! I’m going to invent a gadget which makes perfectly spherical meatballs!" Raj declared, puffing out his chest.
Kiran burst out into laughter, "You mean the 'Perfect Meatball Maker' that blew up last time? I stay out of your kitchen."
