Once upon a time
I tried to hate you
so I built walls around my heart
like a labyrinth
and I found other names
to whisper in the night
other names
that I will surely love
more than yours
and I also changed
tried to become someone different
someone who didn’t constantly
remind me of you
the way I used to be with you
and so
I braked my halo in half
and wore it like thorns
just to fit in
with my demons
and the saddest part
is that I didn’t realize
that by doing this
I now became more thorns
than roses
my petals hardened
into spears
making whoever tries to hold me
bleeding
I lost you
I lost them
and I lost myself.
