As I understand it, and correct me if I'm misinformed, God asks for nothing but a return of his love and devotion, yes?
Why should I give that to god when I can give that to him? He'd never ask me to pray to him (though if it were necessary to do so in order to show my love, I would not refrain from doing so). I get a hand that's there regardless of if it's needed to support me or not, I am asked if im alright when it's been a rough day, I get someone to hold me together when everything is starting to fall apart. I get all of that without ever being tested.
He trusts my devotion, he trusts my love, he won't put me through hardships to test my loyalty because his devotion is equal to mine, he believes in the love between us and that, to me, is more than anything God could ever offer at the same price.
