A world ruled by conformity,
Judgement at every turn.
Taboo is any activity,
That's different from the norm.

Fear of being shunned,
So everyone complies.
Complying till one is ruined,
No one stops even when someone dies.

Asking for change,
protests everywhere.
Despising the strange,
Being treated unfair.

The price of conformity,
Being liked by all except yourself,
In a state of dormancy,
Everyone's true self.

Going against the current,
Hoping to break free.
I'd rather be different,
I'd rather be me.
