MY TRUTH

A black plum is as sweet as white,
A fact which is nothing but just right,
But still a fact so many take so light,
My life has never been bright,
For everything I do you all pick a fight.

Lady luck has never knocked on my door,
Life has sucked me dry,
With no mercy it has robbed off my joy,
I have never known equality if not equity,
Still, I have my hopes so high,
Pity a watched pot never boils.

I have watched my world crumble,
With no one willing to lend a hand,
Not even those who were the catalysts,
As busy as bees, they facilitated the rise,
Forgetting they shouldn't undermine people on their way up,
For they might need them when going down the ladder.

I have been undermined ever since,
Looked down upon no matter how tall I am,
The more I try to prove them wrong,
The more I provoke the demons in their heads,
What did I do wrong to be despised this much?
If I wronged, which sin is unforgivable?
