End of the Line
Odd to suggest why I'm here
It's never been about escaping or fear
The thought that I've been a slave this time around
Feelings of breaking free of what binds us surround
Engulfing out every move whether it be to the store or work, it would seem.
Like waking up to the same damn dream
Over and over till you finally wake up inside
No door to exit, and no where to hide
So, I have these feelings I've had since a young lad
Every time I felt like escaping I jumped on one of the bikes I had
Now that my youngest knows her Dad, and we are cool
No more for her Pops to act like a fool
Take your trip Dad, and before you twist that throttle
Don't forget some words of wisdom you spat
A little info I passed on to her, together we sat
Honey, don't forget to always feel free.
Money isn't what others have, it's something that you should see
It keeps the demons fed, it keeps you ahead of them hounds of hell. Money is a tool like a wrench in your bag you'll always need in a pinch
Most of all, it'll make life that much of a sinch
Finding where you wanna be at the end of a long hard ride
Nothing on the nightstand but your wallet and your pride
When you reach the Coast and find it lonely as hell
Wishing i could find that perfect woman flipping a coin in the wishing well
What a conversation to have with my kid. There's nothing in this life I keep secret or should have hid. As we bump shoulders, a hug and "I love you Dad".
Hoping she finds that person to not make her whole, but to fill that crack in the Dam to keep the waters from breaking it, I wish I had.
