THE DAY I DIED
Ever so slowly they lower my casket that carries me down to the unknown.
as I stand with tears in my eyes I turn away quickly for I can not comprehend what is happening.
How can this be.
That the body they are lowering is me. perhaps I need to pinch myselfz
so I can finally see the one that lays in the casket,
the one that looks just like me.
I try and ask the one that stands beside me.
it isn't until then I realize the woman that stands beside me is indeed my mother.
she in tears, that I can clearly see,
but what bothers me the most,
Is that she cannot see me.
she can not see me standing their beside her trying to get her attention,
I gently place my hand on her shoulder and ask her to please not cry for me.
for I am right here.
yet she never turns her head towards me
she continues to sob uncontrollably, it's frightening how she doesn't look at me.
how she doesn't even flinch at the touch of my hand
I have placed on her shoulder.
What is happening right now.
i ask to myself.
As my cries get louder suddenly,
I'm jolted to the point where I wake and realize it was only a dream.
