I've been famished all these years---
my back slouched and t'was in pain---
Deaf in my rumbling stomach--
I clenched my fist by savory scent to refrain--

T'was this rich man's table----filled
nostalgia feels odd---irksome to be told
He, then held the hands of his children
But left the last one bold---

Banquet began--I gently picked freshly baked bread---
Sat on my seat secluded by everyone--
T'was this little girl who held out her hand--
and said "Cats do eat what's freshly made too"--

I beamed at her--- How I wish I am cat---
Father, then spat at her with sharp eyes---
No one bothered to question her action---
therefore, everyone believes in inherited lies---

My hunger subdued---I felt ill
My stomach is full and also in pain---
twas too much who hurt me---
I burped loudly---looked down in shame---

Mother grin to her son---
I have no clue nor idea for their fun---
the grim look of father's face---
Tells everything with his family's affair---
