The oasis could not
make up for his
absence

and Fatima waited
for him to return,
years rolled over
her eyes dried up

and finally one day
a wandering cloud
announced to her soul
his presence
in the sky, among the stars,
the desert wind, and the water
in the community well

from that day
she stopped going
to the mosque
for her heart had
become the abode of
His abundance,
and His love
