Let Kids be Kids
Let our kids be kids
Let our boys fill our streets with Joy
And not making them look for jobs
Let them play in the rain
And not toil in the rain.

Let our kids be kids
Let their tongues be filled with songs and love
And not thorns and lust.

Let our kids be kids
Mothers have made them runners
Of the papers,
Fathers have made them skip
The fun of Childhood.

Let our kids be kids
Tell them the tales of the wise
And they will not fail
Let them dream freely
So they can breathe freely

Let our kids be kids
Let them be bold in christ
And not cold in the heart
Where Emeka doesn't
Murder his brother.

Let our kids be kids
Let us be able to distinguish between adults and
Young children.
Don't let them grow too soon,
Adulthood is filled with pain and strife.

Let our kids be kids
Let us still find solace in them,
Honesty in their words,
And love in their smiles.

Let our kids be kids
Let them not skip the little beginnings
Let them have their stories to tell
Let them be safe with one another.

Let our kids be kids
Let them be the kids we knew
And not the kids' society made.
