If only wishes can come true,
I have one or two or maybe a few,
And they're all about you,
well, that's not true
I just get blue
thinking of the idea of you

it sometimes hurts to picture
a girl so prim and proper
who does what they tell her
striving for a fabeled future
like she has nothing more to offer
like some shackled creature

I wish sometimes that you knew
it's ok to be you
and the unrealistic normative veiws
you work so hard to adhere to
locking yourself away as you do
will never make you someone new
