"As beautiful as the Moon "

Does that even have a meaning?
Why call someone as beautiful as the moon?
Not that the Moon is not beautiful,
but if you observe keenly,
it's full of craters and gloom.

Those deep dark spots,
on dusty grey floor,
some high, some low.
Be true,
do they look beautiful to you?

To me, they don't.
Some might be treasured with
remarkable names,
some may even carry treasure of gold plated leaves,
the ground covered with not so eternal
prints,
laden with beautiful memories of pasts,
the Moon is special, indeed.
