The past and the future is softly veiled,
In the hiding mists, as the time goes by.
The past is half-forgotten and unassailed,
Until remembered either by hope or memory.

The time goes on, and as it keeps going on
The luxurious present weaves her perfumed spells, untired.
She broiders her garments and heaps her sheaves. She keeps going on as the time goes by.
