Everybody's Fool
Chained by the binds of scrutiny,
I am the one they see as a fool,
With every word and every action,
I am deemed unworthy and cruel.
My sorrow and mourning fall on deaf ears,
As they dance around me in bitter glee,
I'm the one they love to mock and jeer,
As they revel in my misery.
Lies and betrayal, the weapons they wield,
To keep me in this state of despair,
I once thought their love was real,
But now it seems they never cared.
I don't love you anymore, I whisper,
But somehow you're still in control,
You've turned me into everybody's fool,
And my heart has paid the toll.
Heavy-Metal screams in my mind,
As I try to break free from this pain,
But it seems I am forever confined,
To be used and tossed aside in vain.
I mourn for the love that was once shared,
But now it's nothing but a cruel game,
And I am left with nothing but despair,
As everybody's fool, I bear the blame.
