forever battle
everything before it was exposition
eerie calm, then demolition
all that i’d known was ripped apart
and the loss of it all left a tear in my heart
the life that i had never said goodbye
now i’m searching for solace in a cloudy sky
but if i could just have a bit of closure
to keep me from losing my very last bit of composure
maybe then i’d be able to keep my mind stable
and my feet on the ground
but instead my thoughts fight and rustle around
my forever battle, an endless sound.
