Like a hopeful light
As the new year dawns, like a hopeful light,
Winter and spring in a dance, taking flight.
Notebooks fill up, with pages set free,
Yet words lack support, drifting aimlessly.
Without a firm anchor, like a ship lost at sea,
The winds keep on shifting, nothing's meant to be.
A grain of sand whispers, longing for time,
Hoping to find its own rhythm and rhyme.
Without a small grain, does the desert remain?
The sea moves indifferent, its course unrestrained,
Like a love that's forgotten, unwilling to grieve,
As it flows through the moments, it's hard to believe.
Is it a colorless error, a silent refrain,
Like a shadow that passes, a dream in the rain?
It doesn't seek to forget or bid a goodnight,
But yearns for the dawn to awaken its light.
