When I say I love you, what gesture do I produce?
How can you tell when I mean it?
How can you tell when I fake it?
Would the glint in my eyes be full of tenderness?
Or will it contain a lot of disdain?
What does it really mean to say I love you?

What if I was tender and compassionate to you
But my heart harbours resentment
Will you be able to pay attention and detect it
Or will the sweetness of my words sway you out
How do you really guess if I love you?

Both genders have been deceived by white lotuses
They show their tender and fragile faces
Showing how much they care with an innocent face
But frankly, they seek your downfall and shame
Will you be able to differentiate the difference
Or perhaps feign ignorance and bear the pain
But until then, I leave it to our thoughts for pondering
