Lost Redemption
I lay awake in the dead of night.
I toss and turn, and try as I might
Sleep, again, eludes this restless mind.
For, there, to nightmares I am inclined.

I long for your presence. Your kind smile.
Those eyes I haven't seen for a while.
Those kind words you whispered to my ears,
They were my lifeline for years and years.

You saved me from all of the nightmares,
Rescued the mind that threatened to tear.
And now as I lay awake this night,
Scared and alone, I long for your light.
