The time between dusk and dawn,
The time between night and morn,
I travel beyond places unknown,
I'm looking for a golden deer,
That sometimes comes near,
And then eludes me in a murky zone.
It lures me with its golden hide,
I get drowned in a passionate tide,
And raise my hands to clutch the air;
Not a single soul there to rescue me,
How can I get myself free?
My body and soul have now become bare.
My clothes have all been awashed,
My hopes are all now dashed,
Perhaps I know the way to solve this riddle;
Still this panting gives me a numbing pleasure,
Running after the deer is my favourite leisure,
My life keeps whirling around in the middle (of nothingness).
