They were there for Spanish flu,polio and Ebola,
And now they stand between the world and COVID-19,
Despite the struggles,frustration and risks associated with their jobs,
Nurses around the world have remained strong and steadfast in the face of overwhelming odds.
Longer shifts and higher stress level,
Leading to burnouts,
They did not give up.

They are wearing face masks and face shields,gowns and gloves,
It doesn't get easier,
They are heroes who without hesitation answer the call every single day.


No matter how long they have been on the job,
Saying goodbye to many patients in a day takes a toll.

Our nurses,Our heroes,
Many have lost their lives,
Others are probably too busy to read this,
Regardless of where you stand,
We see you,
We honour and appreciate you,
And we salute you.
