Saint francis
of love, you gave up
opulence with all fervor,
O son of a rich merchant! you put
disinterest ahead.

You sang with trovas
to the sun, the moon, the dawn,
and you did not surrender to
God despite
evil consciences.

You married the lady
poverty and you abandoned
all kinds of wealth.
Your melodious song to the
love and nature, it will endure
forever in all existence.
