Dear Me
If I am selfish
Show me my selfishness
Do not hide
Behind a false image
Awaken me to my scars
Without hiding behind
The daily pretenses
Sedated wall of blindness
I wish to meet my darkness
Just as it is
I will not excuse, nor justify
Any part I would publicly decry
But to explore every dark corner
Minus the shame, judgement, fear
To see myself whole
For what really 'is'
Will I be horrified?
Would I be surprised?
If God lifted my veil
And showed me my eyes?
And peer into the window
Of every thought and being
Who really am I?
And how much am I pretending?
Alone
I find the answer
