Candle Light
Although it does not burn very brightly,
Nor shine the most,
It burns the whole way through,
And only stops when the wick drops.

A candle can burn, for a while indeed,
But this small, little light, must also take heed.
For if it lets its guard down,
A gentle breeze might douse its light.

Love is the same, in all manners that is true.
For when I laid my eyes, I laid them on you.
So if my love is like a candle, my light is very bright.
It's gentle and true, honest and kind.
For this kind of love cannot burn spite.

But, please, protect this candle light.
For when the wind blows, the light will go.
As my love is gentle and true,
As a candle light, I need a protector just like you.
