The mental illness that I've been through has been horrible
Never knowing if I was up or down
The long, dark days of depression
It felt like I was forever bound!

I longed to bid these moods farewell
The anxiety and the pain
The fear that gripped my mind so tight
Feeling like I was going insane!

And hearing voices too
