If only wishes can come true,
I have one or two or maybe a few,
And they're all about you.

Starry-eyed, I watch myself coming undone,
Blushing, I ask myself, Is this what I have become?

My heart, it races, my words, they stutter, the memory in my mind remains fresh even after ages.
This is a dangerous path to tread upon, yet I smile as I spill it all in the pages.

In between, my mumbles resides a wish,
a hope, a deal amid me and the one who lives in the sky,
Patience, I warn my heart, but I lose, my thoughts have been running quite wild.

So, demanding and submitting, I kneel before you,
And you smile, face flushed scarlet, do you accept me, Is this true?

Is this another mindless dreaming, or have you really become mine?
My reality changes, it springs free, maybe all the past was just a conspiracy of time.

I sigh, before the sun as it's rays pierce into my soul,
A glimpse of your face, and suddenly I am sure,
So, I join my hands again, praying to the universe once more.

If only wishes can come true,
I have one or two or maybe a few,
And darling, they're still all about you.
