Living is for the birds
Through broken fingers
Little bird slips cage
In wait death lingers
Racking up sparrows age
A visage of wing under pin
Behind glass on wall
A spectacle of sin
Now in sky, heights crawl
To possessions lost
And collections end
Paid in blood freedoms cost
Time pulls, ever eager to rend
In the fall supple wings doth bleed
A pitiful struggle against time's tick
To be meal of gravity's greed
Concede ye hollow bone to egress lip
Do not hate this
It knows no spite
To take and leave only kiss
In loss, remember flight
Sore in dream on winged bliss
Oh, starless night
