An Old Piece of Gold
Isn't it hilarious?
The gleaming gold you cherish,
By eons it becomes carious
And beyond the walls, it perish.

Nature has its own role to play
Like the changing tides and seasons,
But those who live are the ones to pay
Without clues, without reasons.

For decades, it's loved and cared,
Yet, uncertainty prevails after that.
Change was the biggest thing she feared,
Inevitable, for this is what nature has set.

Time shall fly with a blink,
The old piece of gold shall be seen
At the least, in the eyes of this ink,
Or the ring of it shall be worn.
