Interrogation
I am not a criminal.
I am not on trial.
The witness stand you hold me on is unnecessary,
And the Bible is not needed.
I have already told you that I will tell nothing but the truth,
But you are not convinced.
The questions you ask me drive deep into my heart,
The feeling of not being trusted by you is sickening.
I await the feared death penalty,
Although I no longer fear it.
Maybe if I tell you what you want to hear the lethal poison will take over my body quicker.
Most would want the truth,
But you long for lies to fuel your flame that you use to burn me.
As you silence me for eternity,
I hear one last thought drip into my mind like the poison trickling through my veins.
Long live her interrogation.
