Dear Mom,
I know you were too young.
I know you made mistakes.
I know you had it rough.
I know you didn’t have a choice.
But you had a chance,
And I didn’t.
I was a child,
Wondering where you were.
And you were a teen,
Drinking to forget about me.
I’m not sure if you actually cared.
You thought you were free,
Holding the bottle,
Instead of me.
