A Winter’s Evening Walk

The mighty Sun had almost gone as I embarked upon my Winter’s evening walk.
Dreams and memories came together, and both started to talk.
Trees were bare, and their branches looked like skeletons in the park.
Summer’s green grasses, now covered under a blanket of snow, glistened in the dark.

I shivered as the cold breeze kissed my cheeks,
And the snow and sleet were messing about with my boots as I walked down the streets.
Gently, I pulled my hat, scarf and coat snug and tight.
I stood still as both Heart and Soul immersed themselves in the beauty of this glorious Winter’s night.

As I wandered deeper into Winter’s domain, darkness descended,
And beneath the silver glow of Moonlight, my sight ascended.
Eyes closed, I remembered
Solitude and Peace, two old friends who had disappeared,
I wondered if they would ever reappear.

In these Winter evening walks, I find refuge for my mind to reflect,
to contemplate,
It’s a time to let go and appreciate.
For it’s in the stillness of these snowy nights
I’ve discovered the essence of life’s delights.
