The Other
#WritcoPoemPrompt2
In the end it was just me and my thoughts,
A painful trap, long after you were gone
Amidst the tears and vodka shots
I knew the reason that she had won
So many years, many days and nights
Unforgettable moments play over in my mind
The sweet kisses, the hurtful fights
I doubted another like you I could ever find
I was so blind and I did not see
I simply overlooked those crucial signs
To you I was nothing but a pastime, a hobby
I could not read between the lines
Now here I am so cold and empty
Regreful and ashamed , on my own again
My humiliation out there for the whole world to see
The day I stopped being the other woman.
In the end it was just me and my thoughts,

Amidst the tears and vodka shots
I knew the reason that she had won
