When eclipsed in shadows
they spread a solace profound
like rain on the bosom of the
parched earth, they draw out
her pain and soothe her essence.
They lead a wandering soul
to a sanctuary of peace, an oasis
where the mind and heart's angst,
the quill bleeds giving succor to
the distress.
They smudge the canvas with
the hidden emotions and unsaid
words roiling within burning like
a fire waiting for an outlet.
