Guardian of The Gate
#WritcoPoemPrompt8

Every soul that passes the gate,
Has passed the test of time and fate,
Trudging along on tired feet,
Almost there, refusing to be beat.

I stand as the guardian, unwavering and strong,
Witnessing all stories, some having gone wrong,
I am not here to cast hasty judgment,
For every soul has their own predicament.

The first one approaches, eyes filled with tears,
Their life held sorrow, burdened with fears.
In their heart, lit kindness knowing no bounds,
They have endured life's storms and withstood its rounds.

I open the gate, a warm smile on my face,
Guiding them forward to a heavenly embrace,
No hasty judgment, for their soul shines bright,
Their journey's been tough, they've fought it right.

The second emerges, with arrogance of stride,
A life consumed by ego, in shadows they hide,
I sensed a glimmer of remorse deep within,
A chance for redemption, a need to begin.

I pause for a moment, weighing their deeds,
Concerned of true intentions and needs.
The gate creaked open;
A chance to mend their ways!
For even the lost, deserve a chance to brighter days.

The last of today, a heart filled with love,
An embodiment of kindness, a blessing from above,
Their soul radiates with a heavenly glow,
A life well-lived, with compassion to show.

The gate swings wide, a joyful invitation,
To a realm of eternal peace and liberation,
No judgment needed, their journeys all complete,
Their presence on Earth, a blessing so sweet.

Every soul that passes this gate,
Has passed a test of life's quiet fate,
And though some paths are filled with strife,
I offer solace, or chance for new life.

As the guardian of this sacred space,
I see the struggles etched upon your face,
But in each soul a spark I cherish,
With compassion, their journeys can flourish.
